CFP: “Rough Cuts // Short Takes” – Concordia Film Studies and Film Production Mast

Updated: Oct 27, 2020

The Concordia Graduate Film Studies Student Association invites Masters students of Film Studies and Film Production to participate in the annual Symposium, Rough Cuts // Short Takes.  The event is a low-stress opportunity and platform for Masters students within Film Studies and Film Production to exchange and share their research or creative practice with like-minded peers.

Rough Cuts // Short Takes

Thursday 16th March

Temps Libre

12h – 17h 5605 Avenue de Gaspé #106 Montréal

We welcome presentations of works in progress as well as completed projects. Presenters will have up to 20 minutes to allow for ample time for Q&A.

Potential presentations can include but aren’t limited to:

  1. Thesis proposals

  2. Independent study or term papers

  3. Creative projects about film and moving image culture

  4. Short films

Get creative! This is your chance to share your work with your colleagues and get helpful feedback in a relaxed environment.

In order to sign up as a presenter, prepare a 100-word abstract and fill out this form by 17.00 on February 17, 2017.  Our aim is to give everyone a chance to speak, but we need this info to organize our program for the day.

In the spirit of making the event as welcoming and casual as possible, we will be offering free food and drinks, and afterwards will be having a reception to celebrate, at a venue TBC!
