Le Cinéclub: The Film society recently unveiled its upcoming fall line-up, and it looks fantastic!
For many years, this group has delivered some of the most fun and interesting screenings of films from around the world, all of which are gloriously projected on 16mm or 35mm. Le Cinéclub: The Film Society offers rare and unique experiences for every kind of cinema-lover, including a special silent film screening which will take place at a local church with live musical accompaniment (October 3 & 4)!

Dimanche 14 septembre Cinéma VA-114 MONA LISA (1986, R.U. / U.K., 104 min., v.o.a.) Neil Jordan

Tout comme BEN HUR (1959) et CLEOPATRA (1963) ce film fut le dernier des grosses productions historiques des années 60. Et quel festin pour les yeux comme pour l’esprit! (Surpassant de loin GLADIATOR de Ridley Scott) Puisque vous n’aurez probablement jamais la chance de revoir ce film de manière aussi authentique, ne manquez pas votre chance d’expérimenter ses brillantes couleurs du film Technicolor sur grand écran.
On a scale with BEN HUR (1959) and CLEOPATRA (1963) this was the last of the massive historical productions of the 1960s. And what a feast for the eyes and mind! (far out-classing Ridley Scott’s GLADIATOR) Since you will likely never get to experience this film in quite this authentic way again, don’t miss your chance to see it in cinemascope and genuine Technicolor on the big screen.
