Grad Lounge Library 2012-13 Hours:Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4pm-6pm Online Catalogue: librarything.com/catalog/GradLibrary
The Grad Lounge Library (aka GradLibrary) is a valuable (but underused) resource for current graduate students at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. Inside you’ll find a collection of film and media texts (theory, criticism, biographies, etc.), hundreds of class readings (CoursePak-fodder), and an archive of film journals.
As your new librarian, I have come up with several organizational projects I would like to pursue over the course of the year. The most ambitious of these goals is to start an online archive of the publications available in the library. As you can see on the sidebar of Grad/Aperture, I’ve added a GradLibrary widget that allows you to see some of the books in our collection, plus a search engine so you can search the catalogue from home. Here’s the permalink to the work-in-progress catalogue so you can sneak a peek at all of the cool books we own: librarything.com/catalog/GradLibrary
For now, I have set up some trial library hours (subject to change). During these hours, the library will be open to all graduate students, if you would like to have a look or sign out some books. Feel free to contact me via email at malorybeazley@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Happy reading!
