Shout Out!
PhD candidate Julien Lapointe recently published an essay in the latest issue of Mise au Point titled “Film Studies and the Philosophy of Science: Bordwellian Paradigms and Marxist Quarrels“. Falling under the rubric of “history of theory”, Julien uses ideas drawn upon the philosophy of science to theorize the degrees of change and continuity that have marked the discipline.
This special bilingual issue, Cliques and Quarrels in Film Theory, is also co-edited by MHSoC’s own Martin Lefebvre and features a previously unpublished essay by Christian Metz amongst a host of fascinating reads!
Congratulations, Julien!
If you are a MHSoC student and have recently published, we’d be happy to share it! send it our way: gradaperture[at]gmail.com
